Silvertrophy.com are very excited to announce that we are now proud supporters of the Rugby Aid charity tournament which is set to take place on Friday 4th September 2015.
We were approached by Triple S Sport & Entertainment Group and asked if we could supply a Swatkins trophy, the L101 Riviera Cup, to help raise funds and awareness in support of military personnel in partnership with Rugby for Heroes. Of course we were delighted to help out.
The Rugby Aid for Heroes charity is designed to help support our military service men and women as they make the transition back into civilian life.
The inaugural Rugby Aid charity match in association with The Sun is being broadcasted on Friday 4th September, live on BT Sport. The star-studded cast is set to scrum down at the home of the Harlequins’ Twickenham Stoop stadium, where we will see England take on the Rest of the World. Kick-off is 7.45pm.
The England Team
The patron of Rugby for Heroes and Rugby World Cup winner Mike Tindall MBE, will captain the England team. McBusted star Harry Judd and TV personality Louie Spence are among a host of celebrities and former international players.
The Rest Of The World Team
The Rest Of The World team, captained by rugby welsh legend Shane Williams MBE, will also include former overseas and international rugby legends and a host of celebrities including TV presenter Gethin Jones and former Westlife singer Brian McFadden.
Rugby Aid are also giving six military personnel the opportunity to take part in this very special game. One member from each of the RAF, British Army and the Royal Navy will play on each side.
We hope that rugby fans and players alike will get behind this very worthy charity as much as the football fans got behind the hugely successful Football Aid charity, which we are also very proud to support. Since it first began Football Aid has raised millions of pounds, and with your help we can do the same for the Rugby for Heroes charity. Let’s all get behind our armed forces and show them the support they deserve by donating to this very worthy cause.
Tickets for the Rugby Aid For Heroes event are on sale now. Prices range from £20 to £40 and can be purchased by clicking here or by calling 0208 410 6010.
